Whether you are a startup or a well-established enterprise, Primasia Corporate Services can assist with your expansion to Asia, particularly in Hong Kong, China, and other offshore jurisdictions. As a leading professional provider of corporate services for over 30 years, we offer a large variety of corporate solutions; including trade services, Xero cloud accounting, and payroll management.

Standing out in today’s fast-paced, digital-focused world is no easy feat, but it is especially vital for small businesses and startup who hope to succeed against big business and large corporations. Simply being “locally owned” is not enough to sustain a business long term. Making your small business stand out requires offering services or doing things that larger competitors either can not or do not provide. You must be more than “just” a business owner, you have to be part of your community and build a connection to your customer base.

Here are three ways to help your small business stand out:

Provide excellent customer service
Recently there was an article in the South China Morning Post referencing Hong Kong’s “Time is Money” culture, and how common courtesy has become non-existent. Thus, one of the biggest ways you can differ from your competition is to take an extra moment or two to treat your customers with respect and reap the benefits of building a loyal customer base that will keep returning to your small business. A simple “Good Morning” and a smile can go a long way toward making people feel welcome.
Know your customer base
Understanding your customers is a vital part of effectively selling your product or service and in increasing sales. From targeting potential new customers as part of your social media marketing, to providing the goods and services your returning customers expect, to promoting new items and expansions- the key to success is all in communicating with your customers.
Specialize at what you are truly good at
Try not to be a “jack of all trades”. Focus on what you are really good at and position yourself as an expert in your field. Tell people what you are really good at and stick to it. Often we find ourselves saying “Sure, I can do that.”, and wind up in an over promise, under deliver situation. Instead keep a referral list of people you trust to suggest in the fields that you are not as familiar with. In this way you can perfect the specialties you are really good at, and be  THE expert in town who is the expert to work with.
